About the Founder
Shri Shankar Lal Saha, son of
Late Shri Banamali Saha the
founder of Tarashankar was born
in Bangladesh (then East
Pakistan) Brahmanbaria, Coomilla
District, Kandipara Village. The
family of Late Shri Banamali
Saha immigrated to India in the
year 1962 to India. He got
married in the year 1972 to
Shrimati Dipali Rani Saha and
had two sons.
In the year 1969 he had started
his career, as a garment
merchant and then shifted to
transport business. Later in
1983, he started a manufacturing
unit of aluminum utensils by
style of name Tarashankar
Aluminum Products. After running
successfully for 14 years he
closed the factory in 1996.
After that he came to trading
business which is continued till
date.
The Reason behind the name – “Tarashankar”
Like many religious Hindus, the family of Shri Shankar Lal Saha has two family deities, the destroyer of all creation Lord Mahadev and his consort Goddess Kali, whose alternate names are Shankar and Tara respectively. Therefore, their business institutions were named with a combination of the two names that is “Tarashankar”.
